| Q1: I am already in my second year Commerce and I have not taken
any Computer Science courses. What should I do?
A: Please note that none of the Computer Science courses are required
courses for the MIS option. We strongly recommend them for an information
technology career because they are important for positions such
as systems analyst and database administrator. One way to incorporate
Computer Science courses into your program is to take CPSC 111 and 211 during your third year,
take CPSC 121 and 213 during your fourth year, and take the CPSC
310 at a later time (e.g., as part of your job training). Alternatively,
you can take Comm 337 and 432 in your third and fourth year.
Q2: I am a first year Science/Arts student
and I have not taken ECON 100. What should I do?
A: To be admitted into Commerce, you need ECON 100. However, you
can take it in the summer and still make it to the September admission.
Just make sure to state clearly that you will complete ECON 100
by the end of summer when you apply to Commerce.
