Professor Wand's industry experience includes consulting in Israel and in Canada in the areas of information systems and software products development. Among the organizations he had worked with are: Israel Aircraft Industry, Elbit - Computers Ltd. (a manufacturer of computers and computer based systems), Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd., Technion (for the Finance Administration). As well, he consulted for software houses in the area of application generators. He has also worked with IBM (Israel) as a software consultant.
Professor Wand's publications have appeared in The Accounting Review, Communications of the ACM, Decision Sciences, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, INFOR, Information and Management, International Journal of Man-Machine Studies, Journal of the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada, Journal of Information Systems, and Management Science.
Professor Wand's research interests are in the areas of Information Systems Modelling, Methods for Analysis and Design of Information Systems, and Automation of Information System Development. He has also done work on Information Requirements Analysis, Human Computer Interaction, and Operations Research in the Emergency Services. In addition, he was involved with the development of expert systems for the B.C. Forest Service.
Professor Wand's teaching experience includes: Information Systems Development, Databases, Systems Analysis, Advanced Topics in Information Systems, Development of Interactive Decision Support Systems, and Simulation, as well as Introductory Data Processing and Information Systems Courses both in universities and management development programs.
