The faculty members in the Management Information Systems Division are known for world class research. We conduct research on the full breadth of topics
in the field, including the analysis, design, and modeling of information systems, the behavioral aspects of how people use and manage systems, and the
economic aspects of how to manage and assess investments in information system. Recent students have studied topics such as e-commerce, e-government,
IT security, agile development, resistance to IT, and IT strategy. |

| Rankings |
Several recent rankings place our division among the top in the world. For example:
- We are ranked second globally in the number of publications in the top two IS journals in the last three years, and in the top three IS journals
in the last five years. The same site ranks one of our professors as the most prolific researcher in the IS discipline. Several other members
of our division also place highly in these rankings.

- We were ranked the most prolific institution for research on human computer interaction (HCI) in IS research from 1990-2008. Three members of
our division were ranked in the top 16 researchers in this field, with one as the first.
